Hi, my name is Tessa, and I am the owner of Nellie’s Neighbourhood Pet Sitting. Our team of Pet Sitters provides reliable care to animals all over Ottawa.
A little bit about me: My love of animals came at a very young age. At just 8 years old I cared for our senior Chihuahua, Peewee, feeding, walking, and often cleaning up after her. I grew up with many other small animal pets and at the age of 15, to the dismay of my parents, started bringing home cats. It wasn’t long before I convinced my parents to let us keep them. As a teenager, I volunteered at a pet store and did a co-op placement at the local animal shelter. I was then hired on as staff and worked there for 13 years, working in various departments such as Adoptions, Foster Care and Kennels (as an attendant). I started pet sitting through an app in 2019 and quickly realized how much I love pet sitting. I decided to take a leap and open my own company in 2021. The skills I have gained from working with animals for over 15 years allows me to provide care to animals with a variety of personalities and medical conditions. I have experience working with shy cats and dogs, dogs with handling sensitivities and many types of small animals. I ensure your pets are provided only the best care and our team treat them as if they are our own pets (which I have 5 of—3 dogs and 2 cats). We hope to be given the opportunity to take care of your furry friends!
